Healing your root chakra –

Our roots grow into trees and leave behind seeds which grow into trees. There is no tree which came first. Energetically our root chakra is shared. Like a web. We are a living breathing interconnectedness.

We don’t spring out of nowhere. The root chakra connects us to Earth, and it connects us to our ancestors. Just like genetically, we share the same mitochondrial DNA, we pass on energetically encoded information to our children, and their children, which we inherited from our parents, and their parents.

Meditating on your roots will help you balance and heal your root chakra. What pain have you inherited and what pain are you ‘working’ on. Pain may run very deep. It may be the sadness in your face, or the limp in your hip. Seemingly unexplainable, just the way it is. Maybe time has to come for you to explore the deeper aspects of who you are.

What challenges – emotional and physical – did your parents and ancestors suffer from. The ‘pain’ is remembered and encoded in our genes and passed on, parent to child. Memory is emotion. The more traumatic the event, the more sure you can be you will remember it. The pain may be so intense, however, that you may have had to dissociate from it to not ‘lose’ your mind. Look up ‘shadow work’.

Going back to review our history, and to embrace our ancestors may be difficult – especially if you feel distanced from your family, or if they’ve done things you’re not proud of, or have been hurt by. My mother’s side of the family has had to face survival of body, mind, and spirit due to war, separation, torture, and famine. The ego has to become very strong, stronger than usual at times of crisis compared to times of peace.

When everything you need is abundant, a strong ‘survival’ ego will leave the person with the challenge of being pushy, stubborn, controlling and headstrong. But by understanding the pain and the circumstances in which this ‘personality’ emerged will help bring understanding, forgiveness, and healing.

Our roots grow into trees and leave behind seeds which grow into trees. There is no tree which came first. Energetically our root chakra is shared. Like a web. We are a living breathing interconnectedness.
